From el wekkala to Sheraton to an orphans house to checking on latest car models!!

It just added more wonderings to my current wonderings about that life!

yeah moon, life is full of contradictions!!
One thing I felt very much when I visited Egypt was the vast chasm between the rich and the poor. There are just such extremes: places where it feels like the second half of the last century has barely happened let alone this one, then there are places for the fabulously (and ostentatiously wealthy) only.

As a Westerner on an average wage, it felt like being on a see-saw. From feeling horribly over-privileged, to standing the the Grand Hyatt foyer, wondering if they would throw me out for not being well-dressed enough!

Please don't take this as an attack on Egypt (I loved being there), it's just an observation.
Safiya, your observation is totally right.

The gap between social classes here in Egypt is getting wider day after the other. That’s sometimes is very confusing for middle class people, who I think will vanish one day!

Having the opportunity to be among each of these two extremes makes me feel there is something wrong with this world. Those who can’t find anything to eat, and those who would spend thousands in just one night.

I’m just confused!
