Why is the heart accused?!

A simple question, why is it always the heart that we accuse?!

I'd appreciate it if someone gives me an answer.

Because unlike "the mind", the heart rushes into doing something that one might regret. The mind always stops and thinks. This is probably why we blame the heart :)

Well, that leads me to the second question, which is, does the heart really rush? or it's still the mind that controls the heart?

In other words, isn't it the mind that takes all the decisions, and the heart is just a symbol for irrationality?! Where do our feelings come from, is it really the heart?! Or at the end of the day they still come out of the mind?!

I think the decisions are either taken based on feelings or thinking.
In both cases the mind decides..but from different perspective.

I think anonymous is right, it's the mind always making the decisions. But we blame the heart because deep inside we still think we feel with our heart (thus the heart pain most of us notice when something really hurst us). In the end, it's all just a chemical reaction in our brain...even love! But love and other feelings wouldn't be able to create poetry, songs and art in general if we only see them as some chemical thing.
Exactly, u got my point kayla.

I’ve been arguing with some people that it’s not the brain that is responsible for our feelings. I thought it’s something else, may be the heart as it’s well known. But since no scientific fact proved that it’s the heart the origin of feelings, and scientists said that it’s the brain, I was obliged to accept that fact. Deep inside, I wasn’t convinced. There is more about feelings than just these signals and chemicals in the brain. Else what differentiates them from logical thoughts!!

‘But love and other feelings wouldn't be able to create poetry, songs and art in general if we only see them as some chemical thing.’

I guess this might be a good explanation.
